LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design)
The U.S. Green Building Council’s (USGBC’s) Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) program is intended to raise awareness, establish standards for, and stimulate “green” building practices. The LEED rating system awards points toward the certification of a building based on the recycled content of materials used as well as their proximity to the project location. Please find below relevant information on Hadrian’s products for these two key areas:
Recycled Content
This section of the program encourages the use of materials that have a specific recycled content in relation to the overall value of the building materials in the project.
Metal Toilet Partitions
Hadrian’s powder coated metal toilet partitions and screens are manufactured from material that contains 50% recycled steel (36% post-consumer / 14% pre-consumer). Hadrian also manufactures stainless steel toilet partitions that contain 75% recycled stainless steel (15% post-consumer / 60% pre-consumer). The honeycomb core of Hadrian’s doors, panels and pilasters is composed of 18% recycled content (9% post-consumer / 9% pre-consumer).
The weight of the recycled content of Hadrian's metal toilet partitions is distributed as follows:
Honeycomb / verticel core: 8% of the weight.
Steel: 92% of the weight.
Solid Plastic Toilet Partitions
Solid plastic toilet partitions contain a minimum of 30% pre-consumer recycled content. The long life span of solid plastic equates to less material used long-term due to minimal replacement need.
Lockers
Hadrian’s powder coated metal lockers are manufactured from cold rolled material that contains 50% recycled steel (36% post-consumer / 14% pre-consumer). The honeycomb core of Hadrian’s locker doors is composed of 18% recycled content (9% post-consumer / 9% pre-consumer).
The weight of the recycled content of Hadrian's metal lockers is distributed as follows:
Honeycomb core: 1% of the weight.
Steel: 99% of the weight.
Packaging Material
Hadrian’s packaging materials (hardware boxes and locker end-caps) are made from 100% recycled material and our triple-ply, corrugated shipping container (USA) is 100% recyclable.
Powder Coating
Hadrian also takes special care with regard to the environment during the manufacturing process. Hadrian is the industry leader in environmentally friendly powder coating technology. Our powder paints are safe on the environment as there is virtually no waste, energy consumption is low and there are no solvent emissions. Hadrian’s powder coated paints do not contain volatile organic compounds (VOCs).
Hadrian products do not contain urea formaldehyde.
Regional Materials
This section of the program encourages the use of materials and products that are manufactured regionally (within 500 miles of the project site). The “manufactured” site refers to the location of final assembly. Hadrian’s powder coated, stainless steel and embossed stainless steel toilet partitions and powder coated lockers are manufactured in Burlington, Ontario. Solid plastic and Arch solid plastic toilet partitions are manufactured in Mentor, Ohio.
